It is with great remorse that I announce the passing of Jack B. Hurd today at his home in Murtaugh, Idaho.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, 22 August 2008, at 10:30 a.m. in the Murtaugh LDS Chapel.

Leo Vincent Pyne, son of Hester Ethel Miller and Charles Fitch Pyne, born 2 September 1922 at Wendell, Gooding, Idaho, passed away 5 January 2008 at Provo, Utah, Utah.
Funeral Services will be held at the Twin Falls 4th Ward chapel, 667 Harrison St., Twin Falls, Idaho, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2008. There will be a viewing at Hove-Robertson Funeral Chapel in Jerome, Idaho on Friday evening and at the chapel from 9:00 – 9:45 a.m. on Saturday. Interment will be at the Grandview Cemetery in Elba, Idaho following the funeral.

Dear Elba Community Members,
The Elba Park playground committee and I would like to thank you for the generous support you have given us so far in raising money for new playground equipment. To date we have collected $10,350.53.
Based on our original quote from the Playground Company, and conversations with their representatives, we thought we had more than enough money to order our equipment. At the end of September we applied for a matching grant from the playground company and our application was accepted. Unfortunately, when we received our final quote our cost was listed at $12,862.76.
Due to miscommunication from the playground company we are $2,512.23 short of the necessary amount to have our play system shipped to us. That also does not include the cost of the engineered wood fiber needed to put underneath the play system.
As a committee, we are up against a deadline. We must have our playground ordered by November 16, 2007 in order to honor the requirements of a grant we received from the Idaho Community Foundation. If our money is not spent by that date we will have to send the money back to the foundation, and we will be ineligible for funding in the future.
With such a short time span to work with we are sending out a cry for help. We would greatly appreciate any financial assistance you could give us in raising the last of our funds for our playground.
Donations can be made at any D.L. Evans Bank. Please be sure to indicate that you would like to donate to the Elba Inc. Playground fund, (which is a savings account), and NOT the general Elba, Inc. fund. You can also contact me personally about making a donation.
We are hoping to complete our fundraising by November 10, so that we will have enough time to complete the necessary paperwork to order the playground.
Thank you again for all of your help with our playground project. We could not have gotten this far without you!

The 2007 Samuel Henry and Susan Eliza Homer Barker Family Reunion was held Friday, 11 August 2007 through Sunday, 13 August 2007 at the Elba Park.
There was a good turnout with great participation by all.
The reunion for 2008 will be held August 8-10 again at the Elba Park.
